The DCC Bluff Top Challenge – 30 Mile

Sunday, September 11, 2022

Although our shortest course distance offering, the DCC Bluff Top Challenge takes you through some of the best terrain Door County has to offer.

Your journey starts with a flat and picturesque 15-mile waterfront ride along the eastern shore of Green Bay. A satisfying breakfast in Murphy Park at the halfway point is a welcome retreat

At mile 18, things get very interesting and challenging with a steep climb straight up the bluff at Monument Point. Once on high ground, your journey undulates and weaves through the famous cherry and apple orchards in Sevastopol, leading to a rewarding 4-mile long descent to the finish line arch in Sturgeon Bay. If you’re not up for the climb, simply backtrack along the water following the flat and smooth asphalt route, just the way you rode out. This is a great option for families.

The Door County Half Century Ride - 50 Mile

Sunday, September 11, 2022

The DCC Half Century is a true crowd pleaser! With half the time commitment of our classic 100-mile course, our 50-mile riders still get a full Door County experience.

This very popular route provides 3 waterfront rest stops. The lunch stop at Cave Point County Park at mile 28 features perhaps the most iconic and gorgeous natural landscape in Door County. Its limestone faces and blue-green waters are quintessentially unique. With just the slightest wind, magic is in the air. There’s nothing quite like it anywhere.

Just down the road, our 50-milers experience two of Door County’s eleven historic lighthouses. Grab some fresh Wisconsin cheese curds and it’s only 6 miles to the finish. Half the miles, but all the fun!

Our DCC short cut is never short on beautiful landscapes or amenities.

This course is a great option for those who want to up their half century game or for those on the 100-mile but need to cut their ride short for any reason. “The 70” features 4 rest area opportunities, with an added Baileys Harbor snack stop, not included on the 50-mile course. The gem of this journey is the magical causeway crossing of Kangaroo Lake. An inland lake in the middle of the Door county Peninsula? Yes, it’s really something to see and experience firsthand.

As you continue onward, 70-milers join up with the DCC 50-milers in Jacksonport, just north of Cave Point County Park.

For years, Rec Park has been a welcome sight as our riders usually start to feel the miles pile up and start to lose momentum or “bonk.” The cure is a rest stop loaded with fruit, salty snacks, protein and the ever-popular dill pickle juice jolt! The Original Door County Century Ride - 100 Mile

Sunday, September 11, 2022

The “Big Dog” of our Big Ride experience is our 100-mile classic Door County Century course. Imitated, but never duplicated, the original Door County Century ride is the official cycling event of the autumn season.

In addition to all the amenities and treasures along our shorter courses, our classic century distance route reserves two very special and dedicated rest stops at Peninsula State Park and Sister Bay for only our longest distance riders.

At Peninsula State Park, riders stop to enjoy a unique lunch of Caprese Skewers at mile 32, while at mile 43, it’s the much-anticipated Strawberry Shortcake dessert stop in Sister Bay. Points go to the riders who locate the local rooftop goats. Hint: look for the grass roof.

Our 100-milers reconnect with the 70-mile course, just north of Baileys Harbor. With the distance come the spoils and the bragging rights! On to Sturgeon Bay, I say.
